Stockholm Marathon 2025

The Stockholm Marathon is celebrated for its impeccable organization and the stunning beauty of its course. This marathon features a picturesque two-lap route that winds through the center of Stockholm, offering runners awe-inspiring views of the lush surrounding woods, the royal park 'Djurgarden', and bustling city center streets. Participants will pass iconic landmarks including the Royal Palace, the Royal Opera, the City Hall, and the Houses of Parliament, with pleasant stretches along the waterfront and a breathtaking vista of the city from the 'Vasterbron' bridge. Concluding in the historic Stockholm Olympic Stadium, the race provides a triumphal finish in a stadium that has been the stage for 83 officially recognized world records in athletics.

Unique to the Stockholm Marathon is its scenic course that encapsulates the diverse and visually striking scenery of all seven districts of Stockholm, including the pristinely preserved medieval city center. The race embarks from Östermalm and culminates at the storied Stockholm Olympic Stadium, engaging runners with a remarkable blend of culture, history, and natural beauty.

An electrifying atmosphere pervades the event, drawn by the vibrancy of hundreds of thousands of supporters who rally the runners across the course, culminating in an unforgettable finish line experience at the Olympic Stadium. Registration remains open until the day of the race, capable of accommodating 18,000 participants, and features staggered entry fees based on registration timing. A plethora of amenities is offered, including finisher medals, T-shirts, e-certificates, timing chips, pacers, photo services, and various support stations.

The Stockholm Marathon is a multicultural festival drawing nearly 7,500 international athletes from more than 90 countries, organized by the reputable athletic clubs Hässelby SK and Spårvägens FK.
